Li Tieqiao and Kathinka Fürst are in the process of establishing a Sino-International Cultural Exchange Consulting Company based in Beijing. The company provide services related to cultural and academic exchange between Chinese and non-Chinese actors.
Li Tieqiao was born in Hunan, but came to Beijing in the beginning of the 1990's. He works as a musician and event organizer in Beijing. Li Tieqiao has a musical background in traditional Chinese music, he has been a member of a number of Chinese bands, but is now mainly engaged in improvised and experimental music. He is considered to be one of the most important experimental Chinese musicians. Li Tieqiao has an extensive network in the Chinese cultural sphere. From 2005-07 he lived in Norway.
Kathinka Fürst was born in Norway, she moved to China in 2000.
She has a BA in Chinese language and culture from Beijing Language and Culture University. In 2008 she successfully completed her MA education at the Centre for Development and Environment, University of Oslo with the thesis "Access to Justice in Environmental Disputes: Opportunities and Obstacles for Chinese Pollution Victims". She is currently employed in a part time position as an administrative coordinator at the Sino-Norwegian Centre for Interdisciplinary Environmental Research.
The rare combination of the two establishers' cross-cultural background, their extensive network in China as well as their varied experiences in a number of cultural projects provide a unique platform for the consultant company.
